Building has been in our family for over 4 generations with techniques and knowledge passed down, covering all aspects of Building for over 90 years.
From large scale estates to domestic repair work. We have completed thousands of jobs covering the South West of the UK.
We have left the industrial Building world over the past 10 years and we now focus and specialise in Renovations, Extensions,
Alterations and Remedial works of all description, all of our works are finished to a very high standard.
Alterations
Carter and Sons have completed 1000’s of Alterations to existing Buildings over the years.
From replacement Ceilings to total Kitchen Refurbishments, we are happy take on works of any size.
We work in a very tidy and organised fashion, unlike some of the others around!
As a prospective Customer you will receive our estimate for your proposed works and when you decide to go ahead with us Carter and Sons will give you a time window for the starting date and an approximate finishing date so that you can program around us.
As works progress we will always maintain a high level of contact with our Customers.
Basement Alterations
Utilizing your existing Basement area and converting it from Storage to a Living space can be a fairly simple project.
If you already have a Basement and you are not increasing the size, you do not even require any Planning permission.
Extensions
We have built some really nice Extensions. Ranging from simple single storey add-ons to three storey extensions that Trebled the size of the existing building.
We have a very good relationships with an Architect whom we can introduce to our prospective Customers and we can guide you through every stage that builds toward your Extension.
Kitchens
Kitchens are one of favourite ares to work in, we can help with design, layout and all things related to Kitchen installation. All works in Kitchen’s are carried fully by ourselves. We do not involve sub-contractors as most other companies do.

Remedial Works
We are very good at dealing with all types of Remedial Works.
We can install Chemical Damp courses because our installers have been trained to do so. We can issue a bona-fide assured guarantee which is required by all Banks and Building Society’s.
We can also deal with various infestation, ie Woodworm, Wet rot, Dry rot and more. Again all works completed by ourselves will be covered by an assured guarantee.
Building Works Recovery
Over the years we have been asked by many Customers to take over their projects after having been let down by their previous or existing Contractor.
This type of Building Works Recovery Service is one of our specialty’s.

We have been involved with several Green Oak Projects over recent times and in the last few years we have built a few from scratch.

Because we have a very good understanding of local construction methods, we are very happy to maintain any property on behalf of any customer.
We quite often work with Land Lords or Estate agents to maintain their properties.
So whether it is a quick re-decorate before your new tenants move in, to replacing broken appliances or any thing in-between.

Renovations

Because our skill sets are very broad we can advise you in very professional manner.
We can always give you a Ballpark figure, before any detailed breakdown of prices. We are also able to take on some Renovations on an hourly rate.
